The Bwiti Temple

Iboga. Initiation. Gabon. The Bwiti is an ancestral spiritual tradition of the Pygmy peoples of Central Africa, transmitted for thousands of years. At its centre is iboga, the sacred plant known as the medicine of truth. The Bwiti Temple is based in the village of Bikele, Gabon, under the guidance of Okomo Minko, who is also known as Universal Mother. This is not a retreat. It is an initiation. A crossing of a threshold. The Process
The initiation takes place over seven to ten days in the village. It includes preparation, cleansing with fire, earth, water and forest herbs, ceremony held through the night with live sacred music, and integration in the days that follow. The full-spectrum root bark of the iboga plant is taken within the tradition, guided by the Nima. Throughout, your sense of agency is preserved. You are present. You are doing the work.
Who This Is For
This is for people who have reached a point where something in their life requires more than what therapy, meditation, or willpower can offer. It is not for curiosity. You will be asked about your health, your intention, and your readiness. Not everyone is accepted.
